Salary Calculator

Take-home pay in six countries, two offers side by side, and the UAE split that decides your end of service.

Salary & Offer Studio

Type a figure — the result updates as you go

AED

Everything your employer pays you, before anything comes out.

Basic pay and allowances

Decides your gratuity
Basic Allowances

Housing, transport and any other allowance behave identically here — they all add to your pay and none of them count towards gratuity — so there is nothing to gain by splitting them into separate boxes.

Length of service

Used for end-of-service gratuity. Nothing accrues below one year.

This month's adjustments

optional

The paid bands are annual, so earlier days decide which band this month falls in.

Left at zero on purpose. GPSSA rates turn on the emirate, the scheme and when the person was registered, so this tool asks rather than assuming a number.

Working pattern

for the hourly figures

These only affect the hourly and daily figures. The UAE statutory minimum is 30 days of annual leave after a year of service, which is why it is the default here.

Your salary never leaves this page. Nothing is sent to a server, nothing is written into the address bar, nothing is stored between visits and nothing is attached to an enquiry. Close the tab and it is gone.

If you would rather not do this yourself

I build the systems these tools were made for.

Websites, CRM systems and the APIs that join them. The work is done remotely as a matter of course — past clients have been in Australia, Belgium and the UAE — and the scope is agreed and the quote fixed before anything is payable.

How the calculation works

Six countries, one answer, and the part nobody shows you

  1. 01

Type one figure and read the result

There is no Calculate button, no sign-up, no qualifying question and no pay period to date before the tool will answer. The package goes in and the take-home is already there. Everything after that is refinement.

  2. 02

Set the basic share, not four allowance boxes

Housing, transport and every other allowance behave identically: they all add to your pay and none of them counts towards gratuity. Splitting them into separate fields changes no number, so this asks for one thing that does — the basic percentage.

  3. 03

See what the split is worth

The same package at 40% basic and at 70% basic pays exactly the same this month and a materially different end-of-service. That comparison sits in the middle of the result, with your current split marked, because it is the one decision in a UAE offer that is easy to sign away.

  4. 04

Read gratuity against the law, not a rule of thumb

21 days of basic wage for each of the first five years, 30 days for each year after, nothing below one year, and the whole thing capped at two years' wage. The accrual strip shows the step at year five and the point the cap starts to bite.

  5. 05

Six countries, each by its own rules

The UAE has no income tax. The UK applies 2026/27 PAYE and National Insurance with the allowance taper. India uses the new-regime slabs, the standard deduction, the section 87A rebate and surcharge with marginal relief. Canada covers federal plus Ontario, British Columbia or Alberta with CPP, CPP2 and EI. Germany computes the real § 32a formula — two quadratic zones before the linear ones — with pension, health, care and unemployment at their ceilings. China uses the comprehensive-income table and its quick deductions.

  6. 06

Compare two offers, including across a border

Put a Dubai package next to a London, Toronto, Berlin, Bengaluru or Shanghai salary. Each side is calculated under its own rules, and only the UAE side accrues gratuity. If the currencies differ you supply the rate — this tool holds none and will not invent one.

  7. 07

    Convert honestly

Eight pay frequencies, twice: as advertised, and adjusted for public holidays and annual leave. A salaried hour is worth more than gross divided by 2,080, and the second column is the one to quote when someone offers you day rate.

An estimate from your figures, against named instruments

Every number comes from what you type. UAE arithmetic follows Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 — Article 51 for gratuity, Article 19 for overtime, Article 31 for sick leave, Article 67 for the 30-day month. UK figures use HMRC's published 2026/27 rates; India the Income Tax Department's new-regime slabs; Canada the CRA's 2026 federal and provincial tables with the T4032 contribution figures; Germany § 32a EStG and the 2026 Sozialversicherungsrechengrößen; China the comprehensive-income table in the Individual Income Tax Law. Each source and the date it was checked is printed with the result and in the export, and a source whose primary text has not been read is flagged as such rather than presented as settled. What is not modelled is listed per country instead of quietly omitted — the German solidarity surcharge, Quebec, the Indian old regime, Chinese special additional deductions, Scottish rates and student loans among them. This is not a payslip, a settlement statement, a GPSSA assessment or advice.
